I am very excited to send you this email introducing the 2009 MUHS Varsity Tennis Team.  We have an excellent
team this year with fourteen very talented and dedicated young men.

So far, we have completed tryouts at the Varsity and Varsity Reserve levels and one scrimmage.  Our team took
second place on the Homestead Scrimmage held on April 4th with wins over Sheboygan North (7-0), Shorewood
(6-0), and a loss to Homestead (3-5).  Our team played well throughout the day as we tested different doubles
pairings in the three matches.  Our coaching staff was very glad to be able to utilize this date to gauge our team
with some of the other top teams in the area.

The main accomplishment of the week, however, was to get through the tryout process.  Tryouts were very
grueling as the level of talent has increased significantly each year.  Additionally, the number of students trying out
for tennis increased this year to 85.  In response to this, we have decided to move MUHS Tennis into a No-Cut
Program.  We added a fourth team, JV Gold, which will be lead by three of our Varsity Assistant Coaches.  I
believe that this is a big step for our program and that it will help us to continue to build for the future.  We are very
fortunate to have the talent and skill that we do on all of our teams.  All of our coaches are looking forward to the
season and helping our team to make incremental improvements throughout the season.

This upcoming week, we will face Racine Prairie down in Racine on Tuesday, April 7th.  After Easter, we will be
traveling down to Florida for our Spring Break trip in order to practice and get accustomed to outdoor conditions in
a much nicer climate.

I will be sending updates out on a weekly basis throughout the season, usually on Sundays, to report the results
from the previous week and preview the upcoming week.

If you know anyone else who would like to be added to this distribution list or if you would like to removed from this
list, please let me know.  Also, please do not hesitate to email me with any questions.

Thank you,

David R. Frank
